PURPOSE: An index table for a machine tool for minimizing the size by operating a rotary table and a rotary body with a DD motor is provided to secure the ultra precise machining by controlling the indexing location. CONSTITUTION: An index table for a machine tool comprises a index table body(1), a rotation body(2), and a spinning table(3). The index table body comprises a DD(Direct Drive Motor) motor(4), a brake(5), and a bearing(6). The DD motor and the brake are successively embedded inside the first supporter(11). A one side of the rotation body is installed on the center of the DD motor and the brake. The bearing is inserted inside a second supporter(12). The other side body of a rotary shaft(21) is installed. The rotation body is rotated between the first and the second supporter of the index table body. The spinning table rotates in the columnar direction.
