THE ETHANOL EXTRACT OF POLYTRICHUM COMMUNE AND ITS ACTIVE FRACTION EFFECT ANTIINFLAMMATORY AND ANTICANCER

PURPOSE: An anti-inflammation or anti-cancer composition containing Polytrichum commune extract or fraction is provided to suppress NF-kappaB activation and to suppress expression of PGE2 gene. CONSTITUTION: An anti-inflammation or anti-cancer composition contains Polytrichum commune extract or fraction. A method for producing the Polytrichum commune extract comprises: a step of washing Polytrichum commune with distilled water at 100°C for 5 minutes to inactivate an enzyme; a step of pulverizing at 5,000rpm for 5minutes, 6,000rpm for 5 minutes, 7,000rpm for 20 minutes; and a step of centrifuging at 5,000xg for 30 minutes, and a step of drying supernatant. The Polytrichum commune fraction is a chloroform or butanol fraction.
