METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DELIVERING AEROSOLIZED MEDICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metered dose inhalator 10 used together with a pressurized aerosol canister 18 which maximizes a ratio of a metered dose suitable for respiration (namely, a ratio of the shape of a dry particle of the optimum size) in an outlet of a device. SOLUTION: An air tube 34 is arranged in a conduit under a state that an inlet 38 of the air pipe is formed in a conduit wall 74 and an outlet 36 of the air tube is provided in an opposed side to a nozzle orifice. Air is inhaled to the inlet by an inhalation through a mouth piece and discharged from the outlet of the air tube to form an air jet colliding with aerosol plume moving to an opposite side from the orifice. An auxiliary air inlet 46 in a closed end 24 of the conduit gives a boundary laminar flow along an inner wall 44 of the conduit. An eddy generator 54 on the inner wall of the conduit adds an eddy and a turbulent flow to the boundary laminar flow. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
