PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of further reducing road surface striking noise with blocks by improving the forming pattern of groove wall configuration, and transverse grooves contributing to the definition of blocks, and capable of effectively restraining the occurrence of heel-and-toe eccentric wear in the blocks. SOLUTION: Six columns of blocks are partitioned on the tread surface specifying the rotating direction of the pneumatic tire, with four pieces of circumferential direction continuous grooves 1, 2, 3, and a plurality of transverse grooves 4, 5, 6 extended in the direction of the tread width between the respective circumferential direction grooves 1, and 2, and between the outermost side circumferential direction grooves 2 and the tread side edges (e). The four pieces of circumferential direction grooves 1, 2, 3 are constituted of two kinds of grooves, namely, wide width ones and narrow width ones, while block columns 7, 8 adjacent to the wide width circumferential direction grooves 3 cause the transverse grooves 4, 5 to have gradually expanded width toward the wide width circumferential direction groove 3, wherein inclination angles of trailing side edges 7b, 8b of respective blocks 7a, 8a located with the transverse grooves 4, 5 in between them, with respect to the tread width direction, are made smaller than the like inclination anglesθ1,θ2 of the leading side edges 7c, 8c.
