PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord having a low magnetism level, a method for producing the same, and a pneumatic tire by using the same as a reinforcing material. SOLUTION: The steel cord has a surface magnetic field of not more than 0.5 mT. The method for producing the steel cord provides a component making contact with and separating from an intermediate product of the steel cord at a relative speed of 0, which has a surface magnetic field of not more than 5 mT, and the method for producing another steel cord provides the component making a contact with the intermediate product of the steel cord at the relative speed 0, which is made of a non-magnetic material.
