<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a refrigerator capable of making a user easily recognize the necessity of electric power saving and easily enhancing effects of the electric power saving, etc., and the refrigerator including the display device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display device for the refrigerator includes: a liquid crystal display means; a back light means for lighting the liquid crystal display means from the back face and capable of changing a lighting color to a plurality of colors; a back light control means for controlling the back light means; a door opening/closing detection means for detecting the opening/closing of a door; and a door opening frequency detection means for detecting the opening frequency of the door based on the opening/closing of the door detected by the door opening/closing detection means. In accordance with the door opening frequency detected by the door opening frequency detection means, the back light control means switches the lighting color by the back light means.
