<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fusion of the inner wall of an ink supply member due to heat of a thermal welding tool when the ink supply member and a filter are joined by the thermal welding tool. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A recording element substrate and the ink supply member are temporarily fixed by fusing the filter, inserted between the recording element substrate and the ink supply member, by heat.
