<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To trap a parent rat or a young rat the trapping of which is difficult by a method of inserting bait into a cage to attract the rat, and using two strong springs. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sensor activated drop type rat trap uses the sensor and a motor, and further uses a scaffold and a cage. When the rat enters, the sensor operates to move the motor to allow an L-shaped horizontal bar on which a body is hung to be touched to drop the body by the weight. The bottom of the body is divided into two pieces at the center, and is regulated so as to be lifted and lowered on four props stood at the four corners in the cage. When the cage drops, one bottom is pushed by the rat so as to be lifted and to crawl up on the other bottom plate, and at the moment, the lifted bottom plate returns to the original shape to prevent the rat from escaping from the cage in the mechanism of the rat trap.
