A method and system for supporting wireless local area multimedia broadcast are disclosed, the method including: scanning frequency in the area of wireless local area multimedia broadcasting, determining the transmitting power and locations of the system; when the system is working, gathering the audio and video signals for wireless local area multimedia broadcasting, transmitting the signals according to the transmitting power, the transmitting locations and the technical standards for mobile phone television after encoding the signals; the terminal supporting mobile phone television selecting the receiving power corresponding to the transmitting power of the system according to the technical standards for mobile phone television and receiving the signals; decoding the signals by the mobile phone television module supporting the technical standards for mobile phone television in the terminal; playing and consumption according to user selection. |
