A liquid crystal display device is provided with: a first substrate and a second substrate which are disposed to face each other; a frame-like sealing material which is provided between the first substrate and the second substrate and bonds the first substrate and the second substrate to each other; and a liquid crystal layer formed by sealing a liquid crystal material inside the sealing material.  The liquid crystal display has a display region which is defined inside the sealing material and displays an image, and a non-display region defined outside the display region.  The non-display region is provided also on the inner circumferential section of the sealing material.  The first substrate is provided with a plurality of wall-like sections which are spaced apart from each other and extend along the sealing material in the non-display region provided on the inner circumferential section of the sealing material.
