Disclosed is a process of producing a composite material by curing a fluid material, wherein the strength deterioration of the composite material is reduced by doing repairs prior to the curing. The process comprises: a step of making, after the impregnation of fibers with a resin has been initiated, a suction hole in a bag film (3) that seals a space wherein the impregnation is being conducted; a step of covering the suction hole with a plate (56) having multiple holes (57); and a step of sucking the resin from the space through the plate (56). According to the process, defects which have occurred during the impregnation of fibers with a resin can be repaired before the curing of the resin and without disturbing or damaging the fibers. The composite material prepared by doing repairs in such a manner exhibits, in a repaired portion, a higher strength than that of a composite material prepared by doing repairs after the curing. Thus, the composite material produced by the process does not suffer from strength deterioration associated with doing repairs after the curing, and is therefore a desirable material. |
