<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light resistance of a polarizing plate which comprises a polarizer and a retardation film and to provide such a projection type liquid crystal display device as a front projector, a rear projector, wherein the optical system of the projection type liquid crystal display device is miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: An adhesive layer 5 and an adhesive layer 7 are each formed inside a surface where a transparent substrate 1 and a transparent substrate 2 are separated from and opposite to each other and the polarizer 3 and the retardation film 4 are respectively fit to the transparent substrates 1, 2 by the adhesive layer 5 and the adhesive layer 7. An adhesive layer 6 is formed on a surface of the polarizer 3, the surface being opposite to the contact surface of the polarizer with the adhesive layer 5. The polarizer 3 is joined to the retardation film 4 by the adhesive layer 6. Exposed portions, where the polarizer 3 and the retardation film 4 are not contacted with the adhesive layers 5, 6, 7, are sealed by a sealing agent 8, so that moisture is prevented from intruding into the polarizer 3 and the retardation film 4 from the air. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
