PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner which is excellent in charge rising property and stability to environmental variation, achieves uniform charge of a toner particle surface, stably gives a high quality image, ensures excellent blade cleaning property and low-temperature fixability, and is excellent also in hot storage resistance. SOLUTION: The toner is produced by dripping in a gas phase a toner composition liquid prepared by dissolving or dispersing a toner composition including at least a binder resin and a colorant in an organic solvent and solidifying the resulting liquid droplets, wherein the binder resin has a glass transition temperature of 35-55°C and the toner composition further includes a phenolic resin exhibiting no thermoplasticity as a component.
