PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor wherein a rotating shaft, a magnet, and a cover member can be integrally fixed by press-fit without adhesive and yet breakage of the cover member can be suppressed, and to provide a method of manufacturing rotors. SOLUTION: In each permanent magnet 12, its inside diameter surface 12b is abutted against the outer circumferential surface 11a of the rotating shaft 11 and its outside diameter surface 12a is protruded in an arc outward in the radial direction as viewed from the axial direction. The radial dimension D3 from the axial line L of the rotating shaft 11 to the circumferential center of the outside diameter surface 12a of each permanent magnet 12 is made larger than the radial dimension D4 from the axial line L to either end of the outside diameter surface 12a in the circumferential direction. The outside diameter surface 12a of each permanent magnet 12 is so configured that its circumferential intermediate portion is pressure welded to the inner circumferential surface 13a of the cover member 13 and both its ends in the circumferential direction are separated from the inner circumferential surface 13a of the cover member 13.
