The adjusting unit (1) has a two-piece component (100) with a hollow element (120) that extends perpendicular to a contact surface (112) e.g. floor. Another component (200) has an adjusting element (210) extending perpendicular to another contact surface (212) and adjustably and movably formed in the hollow element in an axial direction along an axial axis (10). The adjusting element has a safety element i.e. stop element, inhibiting movement of the adjusting element from the hollow element in the axial direction. The hollow element and adjusting element are formed as casings. An independent claim is also included for a method for construction of a planar surface.
