In an embodiment, a hearing aid (102) is provided. The hearing aid may include a first hearing aid housing portion (104), the first hearing aid housing portion including a first substrate (106) having an electronic circuit and a first electrical connector electrically coupled to the first substrate; a second hearing aid housing portion (110) coupled to the first hearing aid housing portion (104) the second hearing aid housing portion including a second substrate (112) having an electronic circuit and a second electrical connector (114) electrically coupled to the second substrate; and a lock (116) positioned on the second hearing aid housing portion and coupled to the second electrical connector (114) wherein the second electrical connector may be configured to be movable relative to the second hearing aid housing portion such that the second electrical connector may be electrically coupled to the first electrical connector to lock the second hearing aid housing portion.
