PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a blocking artifact in motion-compensated video coding.
SOLUTION: It is determined whether deblock filtering is carried out on each of borders of adjacent blocks in a reference image with respect to a luminance channel and a chrominance channel. Here, it is evaluated whether motion vectors of adjacent blocks are similar to each other with respect to one of the luminance channel and chrominance channel, and it is evaluated whether the motion vectors point the same reference image; when the motion vectors are not similar to each other or when the motion vectors do not point the same reference image, it is determined that deblock filtering is carried out on borders of the luminance channel and borders of the chrominance channel, and when the motion vector are similar to each other and the same reference image is pointed, no deblock filtering is carried out on the borders of the luminance channel and the borders of the chrominance channel.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
