<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a user's confusion by presuming the degree of confusion for a detected pattern of characteristic quantity as the degree of confusion of the user. <P>SOLUTION: Equipment internal characteristic quantity in an operation showing a user's confusing state, with respect to input information in operation of a car navigation device by the user and equipment internal state change according to the input information, and a duration of the user's confusing state shown by the equipment internal characteristic quantity in this operation; and a user's characteristic quantity in the operation showing the user's confusing state, with respect to the user's operation and expression before and during operation of the car navigation device, and a duration of the user's confusing state shown by the user's characteristic quantity in this operation are detected (S102).
