PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brazing method for copper tube by which a plating film of a tin-plated copper tube can be prevented from being melted due to heat shielding as possible, and to provide a heat exchanger manufactured by the method. SOLUTION: When brazing and joining a first copper tube 2 with tin plating being executed on its surface and a second copper tube 5 without any tin plating executed on its surface with each other by using a burner 10, a heat shielding material 20 for shielding the heat radiation from the burner 10 side to the first copper tube 2 side is installed and executed. The heat radiation caused by the high-temperature radiant heat from the burner 10 is shielded by the heat shielding material 20 to prevent the reach of the heat radiation to the first copper tube 2 side. Thus, any damage caused by the melting of the plating film deposited on the surface of the first copper tube 2 is prevented as much as possible irrespective of the brazing using the burner 10, and the corrosion protection effect of the first copper tube 2 is excellently maintained over a long period.
