PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of securing a contraction stroke of predetermined length of a movable tube by preventing the rotation of an on-vehicle body fixing bracket provided on the movable tube. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device is structured to absorb an impact by a slide in the axial direction of an outer tube 11 and an inner tube 12 press fitted into this outer tube 11. A movable side tube of both tubes 11, 12 is provided with a first bracket, which is attached detachably at the vehicle side, and a second bracket 17, which is fixed on the movable side tube and can abut on the first bracket.
