<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and massively produce and assemble at low cost and with small number of part items and small assembling man-hours an electrooptical device including an electrooptical panel, such as a liquid crystal panel, for example, and a backlight unit for emitting light onto the electrooptical panel, and electronic equipment using the electrooptical device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This electrooptical device 1 includes the electrooptical panel 2, and the backlight unit 3 arranged oppositely to the back of the electrooptical panel 2. The electrooptical panel 2 and the backlight unit 3 are oppositely accommodated and arranged inside a cylindrical case 5 with a bottom or inside a cylindrical case 5 having a display window 5a at a position corresponding to the pixel region of the electrooptical panel 2.
