<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device which is comparatively simple in composition and ensures high-grade display quality when a block-sequentially-driving method is used, and also to provide electronic equipment thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical device conducts overlapped-block sequential driving, which has a writing period in which writing is overlappingly made across two adjacent blocks and writes picture signals, as a block-sequentially-driving method which sequentially drives blocks in a block unit which combines a plurality of data lines. In this case, when writing is made to a final-stage pixel block, a picture signal to be supplied to the pixel electrode of the final-stage pixel block is offset or a common potential signal to be supplied to a common electrode is offset, and consequently a holding voltage for the pixel capacity of the final-stage pixel block is changed so that the voltage value may become lower.
