The invention relates to the use of plasticized films that are based on polyvinyl acetal having a polyvinyl alcohol content of less than 20% by weight for use in the production of photovoltaic modules. Preferably, the films have a glass transition temperature Tg of at least 20°C and/or a plasticizer content of not more than 26% by weight.
