<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material delivery system, wherein a sealing material or adhesives are applied to the periphery of any anastomosed part and held together with the tissue there until the part is cured, and various drugs are applied to the circumference of the anastomosed part to help or accelerate its cure. <P>SOLUTION: A material delivery instrument is an elongated tube having a treatment lumen. The treatment lumen includes an elongated tube extending from the instrument proximal and ending before its distal end, at least a port extending between the treatment lumen and the outside of the distal end of the instrument, and a superelastic wire positioned in the distal end of the instrument. The superelastic wire has a linear construction when it receives stress, and a loop construction when it does not. The distal end of the instrument has the superelastic wire as a superelastic member in order to enclose a tubular tissue area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
