<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector capable of preventing a finger of a user from being cut while the user operates a kitchen knife to cut a foodstuff. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The finger protector is made of a medium hard material which protects from the tip of the index finger to the second joint. The finger protector includes a kitchen knife guide to be slidably brought into contact mainly with the tip of the finger from the first joint, so that the finger is not cut if the kitchen knife hits the finger between the first and second joints when the kitchen knife is raised high. The finger protector has a notch on the pad side in the first joint, so that the finger can be easily bent or stretched. The finger protector also has overlapping margins so that the finger can be inserted into the finger protector regardless of the thickness of the finger. As the fitted finger protector is stably held and approximately 5 mm of the tip of the finger is exposed from the finger protector, the sense of touch is not lost when the foodstuff is pressed, moved or dished up. By invertedly fitting the notch of the finger protector from the finger pad side, the foodstuff can be cut into fine strips or thin slices like sliced raw Fugu. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
