PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip holder which prevents an insulating member of the chip holder to be used for a welding torch for power supply from falling off by reducing the diameter of a wire passing hole of a power supply chip. SOLUTION: There is provided the chip holder 21 for a welding torch 1 for supplying the power to a welding wire. A power supply chip 8 is provided between a chip body 3 and the chip holder 21 suitable for a fore end thereof, and a longitudinal slitting slot is formed in the power supply chip 8 from its fore end. The power supply chip 8 is pressed by the chip holder, and the diameter of a wire passing hole 9 of the power supply chip 8 is reduced. The chip holder 21 is columnar, and formed hollow so that the power supply chip 8 is inserted from its base end. An insulating member inserting hole 25 is formed in a fore end of the chip holder 21, and a heat-resistant insulating member 24 having the wire passing hole therein is inserted in the insulating member inserting hole 25. A fore end of the insulating member inserting hole 25 is pressed inwardly, and an insulating member 24 is fixed in the insulating member inserting hole 25. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
