<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure of a shift link rotation locking means during selecting a manual speed change mode of the shift lever, and to reduce the number of components. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the shift lever device 10, a shift lever 50 is supported at the base bracket 12 to be operated and selected. The shift link 18 is interlocked with the shift operation of the shift lever 50 in an automatic speed change mode. The shift lever 50 and the shift link 18 are made to be in a not-interlocking state by selecting the shift lever 50 to a manual speed change mode. A shift shaft 56 is provided at the shift lever 50. A hollow shaft 19 that is supported at the base bracket 12 to rotate freely and in which the shift shaft 56 is inserted is provided at the shift link 18.
