PURPOSE: A secondary zinc alkaline battery is provided to effectively control the production of zinc dendrite when a cathode and a separation film are coated with gel electrolyte for coating including a gel polymer and potassium hydroxide and to improve the lifetime and charging/discharging efficiency of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A secondary zinc alkaline battery includes an anode, a zinc cathode(103), a cathode separator(107), an anode separator, and alkaline electrolyte. The zinc cathode and the cathode separator is coated with gel electrolyte for coating including a gel polymer 1-10 weight% and potassium hydroxide solution 90-99 weight%. The gel polymer is selected from a group comprising polyethylene oxide, polyvinyl alcohol, and potassium polyacrylate.
