<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overwrite data recorded in a recording area with another data without complicated processing, while rotating an optical recording medium at a linear speed higher than an allowable recording linear speed. <P>SOLUTION: When overwriting the data recorded in a first recording area with another data, while rotating the optical recording medium at a first linear speed higher than the allowable recording linear speed, optimum power control (OPC processing) is executed while rotating the optical recording medium at a second linear speed not higher than the allowable recording linear speed; thereby the optimum recording power (normal recording power) of a laser beam in forming a recording mark at the second linear speed is acquired (step 20). On the basis of the optimum recording power and a predetermined coefficient, overwrite power which exceeds optimum recording power is obtained (step 21), and a recording mark is formed by irradiation with the laser beam adjusted to the overwrite power obtained while rotating the optical recording medium at the second linear speed (step 22). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
