METHOD OF REMOVING CARBON MONOXIDE FROM COARSE HCL GAS, AND HCL OXIDIZING METHOD USING PURIFIED HCL GAS OBTAINED BY THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and simple method of removing a carbon monoxide-containing gas from a coarse HCl gas including at least a carbon monoxide, and including or not including nitrogen, and a method of oxidizing HCl combined with the method. SOLUTION: The method includes at least following processes for; (a) compressing the coarse HCl gas to high pressure in a compressing stage, (b) liquefying a hydrogen chloride and remaining the carbon monoxide-containing gas by cooling the compressed coarse HCl gas, (c) removing the carbon monoxide-containing gas from the liquefied hydrogen chloride, and (d) evaporating the liquefied hydrogen chloride, and providing the purified HCl gas for the HCl oxidizing process by optionally superheating the liquefied hydrogen chloride.
