PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 2-aminotropones useful e.g. as an intermediate for electronic materials and pharmaceuticals in high production efficiency. SOLUTION: The method for producing the 2-aminotropones expressed by formula (1) from a tropolone derivative and amines comprises reaction of the tropolone derivative expressed by formula (2) with the amines and extraction of the 2-aminotropones with an acid having a hydrogen ion concentration of 0.5-10 mol/L.
