PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid various losses of a user when an external storage device in which a problem has occurred in all pieces of equipment sharing information via a network is tried to use. SOLUTION: When it is determined whether or not an external storage device 105 connected to a first computer 1001 is readable/writable and it is determined that it is not readable/writable (S1102), identification information about the external storage device 105 is written to a nonvolatile memory (S1103). Then, results from S1101 to S1104 are transmitted to a second computer 1002 via an identification information network sharing means and information about the external storage device 105 which is not readable/writable is shared. When the external storage device 105 is connected to the second computer 1002, the second computer 1002 also holds the information of the first computer 1001, so that similar processing to one S1105 which is performed by the first computer 1001 is performed.
