<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the estimation accuracy of transmission path and the overall system utilization in a diversity system which compounds signals from a plurality of antennas. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A receiving device is configured such that a maximum ratio combining section compounds data of every antenna group received via a selector, an error correcting section demaps the compounded data and corrects errors of the compounded data thus demapped, a re-encoding section receives the compounded data thus demapped, corrects errors by Viterbi hard decision and then re-encodes the corrected data, i.e., the compounded data subjected to error correction, and a transmission path response calculation section calculates a transmission path response related to the received data by using the corrected data thus re-encoded as a pilot symbol.
