The modular system has an instrument panel (10), which extends in a transverse direction over a width of the cockpit of a motor vehicle with a carcass and a function module, particularly an air conditioning apparatus. The function module is arranged underneath the instrument panel and is fastened at the carcass of the motor vehicle. The instrument panel is fastened by two supports (12.1,12.2) at the function module. The instrument panel and the function module are made up of plastic. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an instrument panel with multiple supports; and (2) a function module with multiple supports.
