The device has clamping elements (4) each movable to a clamping position in a direction towards a fastening element and to a release position in a direction opposite to the fastening element. The clamping elements come in contact with a circulation path of a conveyor chain (3) at a rail guide, such that the clamping elements are moved to the clamping position. The rail guide is formed by a flexible guideway (12), whose control outline is fixed by a set of piston rods (16b). The piston rods are arranged at a distance from each other along the guideway and regulate the guideway. An independent claim is also included for a textile machine for manufacturing a textile web.
