FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps on which a sample is obtained from the processing line, excess moisture is removed, fibre in the sample is irradiated with a light source with a large beam and spectral data are obtained in a predefined time period and the said data are compared to predefined calibration to determine the Kappa number. In order to control the process, the method may involve mounting an exciting light source and a fibre-optic probe in different positions relative the process of sulphate pulping and bleaching, e.g. 1) on drum-type vacuum filters for cleaning sulphate pulp and 2) along wet lap machines of the bleaching installation placed directly in front of a wiping blade. ^ EFFECT: invention enables fast and efficient quantitative analysis on wet cellulose samples. ^ 18 cl, 11 dwg, 7 ex |
