<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor preventing a lead section from being damaged by a packing. <P>SOLUTION: A second packing 27 disposed between a holder 15 and a detection element 3 is a circular plate packing having a through hole 65 in the center thereof, and more particularly, for example, provided with a Cr layer 69 on both major surfaces of a stainless steel substrate 67 made from SUS 430. In short, an oxygen sensor 1 is provided with a metal layer 69 consisting of Cr on an abutting surface thereof as a second packing 27 abutting on a collar section 29 of the detection element 3. If used in a harsh environment such as in a higher temperature state than usual, the lead section 63 on the surface of the detection element 3 adheres to the second packing 27 to constrain exfoliation, thus preventing damage on conduction of the lead section 63. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
