<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch in which thinning of constituent parts and smooth sliding are assured without using a stabilizer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: As for the key switch 10, a hollow columnar part 7 installed at a key cap 6 is slidably fitted into a guide hole 4 in a housing 5 installed on the upper face of an upper case 3 covering a switch substrate 2, and in accordance with pushing-in of the key cap 6, an elastic member 8 arranged on the switch substrate is made compression-deformed, and a movable contact in the switch substrate is closed. The upper case 3 is equipped with a first guide part 13 installed in the guide hole 4 and a second guide part 14 installed at both end parts of the housing 5, and the key cap 6 is equipped with a first sliding part 15 inserted into the guide hole 4 and slidably fitted into the first guide part 13, and a second sliding part 16 installed at a prescribed position separated from the hollow columnar part 7 in free sliding against the second guide part 14.
