<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating a liquid crystal device, with which simple and highly precise determination of deterioration is feasible. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the liquid crystal device 2 is for evaluation of the liquid crystal device equipped with a liquid crystal panel 6 having a pair of electrodes, and includes: applying a first driving signal between the pair of electrodes of the liquid crystal panel 6; measuring a first transmittance of the liquid crystal panel 6 when the first driving signal is applied thereto; applying a second driving signal with a frequency different from that of the first driving signal between the pair of electrodes of the liquid crystal panel 6; measuring a second transmittance of the liquid crystal panel 6 when the second driving signal is applied thereto; and evaluating the light resistance lifetime of the liquid crystal panel 6 by comparing the first transmittance with the second transmittance.
