PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine, even if shifting to a mode referring to a special pattern selection table, capable of shifting to another pattern selection table regardless of the presence/absence of a symbol variation. SOLUTION: A variation pattern determination means 115 stores a regular pattern selection table, and a special pattern selection table in a different correspondence therefrom, and selects a variation pattern by referring to either table. When the special pattern selection table is set as the reference table, a time counting means 200 counts an elapsed time from a time when setting the table. A reaching determination means 202 sets a target elapsed time value and determines whether the elapsed time reaches the target elapsed time or not. When the elapsed time reaches the target elapsed time value, the variation pattern determination means 115 finishes the reference of the special pattern selection table referred at present and sets the pattern selection table to be referred when determining the variation pattern this time or later, to another pattern selection table.
