<p>A medium conveying device for conveying a sheet-like recording medium, wherein the conveying device is adapted to be easily maintained. A conveying device (10) provided with a rotatable conveying roller (9) and a pressing roller unit (8) for conveying a recording medium by rotating while camping the recording medium in cooperation with the conveying roller (9). The pressing roller unit (8) is separated into a roller shaft support section (15) and a roller support section (16), and the roller shaft support section (15) is configured so as to be mounted removably to the roller support section (16). When external force is applied to the pressing roller unit (8) in the direction of the width of the recording medium, that is, in the scan direction of a carriage (4), the roller shaft support section (15) is easily removed, and when external force is applied in the direction of the conveying roller (9), the roller shaft support section (15) is less likely to be removed. The configuration reduces the time for maintenance.</p> |
