PURPOSE: If probe is set in holder, it senses this and the ultrasonic diagnostic equipment and control method stop the operation of probe. The accumulated performance degradation of probe by the heat is prevented. CONSTITUTION: The holder(130) comprises the placing part leaving unredeemed probe. The sensor(140) senses the deferment whether or not of probe. It is connected in sensor and the controller stops the operation of probe. It is connected in controller and the display unit(160) indicates the operating information of probe. The sense line tag part selects the decided operation of sensor.
