PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an effective conveying means in an automatic production of lenses and to provide a probe for conveying a lens which does not break the lens when the hydrated lens is conveyed and can assuredly convey the lens to a desired position and rapidly detach the lens, and a method for conveying a lens using the probe for conveying the lens. SOLUTION: In the probe for conveying the lens to a second position from a first position, the end of the probe has a diameter and a form corresponding to the form of the lens. The end has holes for sucking the lens through a negative pressure. When the lens is detached from the probe, the end of the probe is divided to move part of the probe forward or backward so that the contact area of the lens and the probe becomes 80% or lower of that during a conveying operation.
