PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of displaying satisfactorily an image, by stabilizing a characteristic of a protection layer. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the plasma display panel has a front face plate including a display electrode formed on a front face substrate, a dielectric layer formed to cover the display electrode, and the protection layer formed to cover the dielectric layer, and the front face plate is put under a moisture-less atmosphere, only in a period when a front face plate temperature is 400°C or less, after forming the protection layer.
