PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of noise caused by operation during photographing of animation. SOLUTION: The camera includes: an imaging unit 15 to take the image of an object that is formed by an optical member; a switching means 14a that can change over to an animation mode where an image taken by the imaging unit 15 is output as an animation and to a still image mode where it is output as a still image; and a control unit 11 that controls at least part of the optical member to move in the direction of optical axis of the optical member according to the operation of an operator. The control unit 11 does not control the movement of part of the optical member irrespective of the operation of the operator when the animation mode is selected by the switching means 14a.
