Ž<P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 10 includes the pistons 12a, 12b for the combustion chamber, a crankshaft 16 connected to the pistons 12a, 12b, a plurality of pistons 18a, 18b for the balancer, which move opposedly to the pistons 12a, 12b, and a connecting rod 20 which collectively connects the plurality of pistons 18a, 18b for the balancer to the crankshaft 16. The connecting rod 20 has a plurality of small ends individually connected to the pistons 18a, 18b for the balancer, and a single large end 22 connected to a crank pin provided in the crankshaft 16.
