<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform recording by reducing influence caused by unnecessarily pressing of a recording medium such as a bankbook by a user. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a dot impact printer, a shutter plate 62 is provided in a conveying path of the recording medium 100, the recording medium 100 is manually supplied, and recording is performed for the supplied recording medium 100. When the supply of the recording medium 100 is detected in the dot impact printer, a rear end part 100b of the recording medium 100 is once conveyed up to a prescribed storage position in a body of equipment, and subsequently the stored recording medium 100 is conveyed up to a prescribed aligning position to align the recording medium 100 by the shutter plate 62.
