Provided is a method for mounting a plurality of members on a substrate.  The method includes: (1a) a step of preparing a first liquid; (1b) a step of preparing a member-containing liquid which contains a member and a second liquid (wherein the first liquid does not dissolve in the second liquid and has wettability higher than that of the second liquid with respect to the surface of the member, a first region and a line having a width shorter than the shortest length of each member); (2) a step of applying the first liquid to the first region (11) and the line; (3) a step of bringing the member-containing liquid into contact with the first liquid applied to the first region by moving relatively to the substrate a squeegee, which supplies the member-containing liquid to the substrate, from the side of one end of the substrate to the other end side such that the squeegee is over the line; and (4) a step of arranging each member in each first region from above the substrate by removing the first liquid and the second liquid.
