The device has a signal processing device present in a housing (10). A wearing hook (12) is attachable to an ear cup, and is screwed with the housing by a left-handed thread. The wearing hook is retained in a neutral position using spring force, and is movable into an engaged position against the spring force using pressure in axial direction of the thread to the housing. The wearing hook is removed from the housing in the engaged position. Sound channels (9, 16) axially run through the left-handed thread.
