<p>An input image is received from an imaging element (101). A detection circuit (103) detects frequency information relating to an input image. An electronic hand-shake processing circuit (104) detects hand-shake information (motion amount). A CPU (108) receives the frequency information and the hand-shake information via an image processing circuit (106). If the input image contains a plenty of high-frequency components, the CPU (108) increases the compression ratio. If the input image contains a plenty of low-frequency components, the CPU (108) lowers the compression ratio. Moreover, if the input image is moving, the compression ratio is increased and if the input image not moving, the compression ratio is lowered. A compression/decompression circuit (107) compresses an image in accordance with the compression ratio thus determined.</p> |
